Day 1. Arrival in Baku

23:45 - Arrival in Baku from Moscow. Meeting tourists at Baku “Heydar Aliyev” airport. Transfer and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2. Baku

09:00-10:00 - Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00-13:00- Sightseeing tour «Baku- The capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan » (4 hours): central square
“Azadlyg” main highway, squares, monumental and sculptural monuments of the city panorama of the
city and Baku bay from Dagustu Park (Nagorny Park) historical-architectural monuments of the
medieval part of the city “Icheri Sheher”/XI-XIX c.c./ (fortress walls, main fortress walls “Gosha gala
gapi”, “Shirvanshahs’ Palace” (XV c.), architecture of narrow streets of the medieval city, old bath
houses, mosques, caravanserai complex, craftsmen’s shops and antique shops, Zoroastrian tower
temple “Giz Galasi” (Maiden Tower) /VI-XII c.c./ etc.
13:00-14:30 - Lunch at “Carvansaray” restaurant (XIV- XV c.c.) with national colour, dishes of Azerbaijani
cuisine “Qutab”, “Dushbara”, “Assorted kabab” on vertical ramrod and wine sampling – “Giz galasi”,
“Chinar”, “Mugan”, “Fires of Baku” etc., “Baku” and “Azerbaijan” cognac sampling as well.
14:30-17:00- Visit to Research Institute of Viticulture and Wine-making with tasting of various brands of
Azerbaijan wine, (there are more than 70 brands of wine in Azerbaijan, winy as well as table and
seedless raisin varieties including one cultivated from the vine brought from abroad (France, Georgia,
The Ukraine, the USA, Israel, Iran, etc.)
17:00 - Visiting one of the trade markets with wines and liquors products.
Free time for independent acquaintance and shopping.
20:00-23:00 – Dinner - “Taste Azerbaijan” – in one of the prestigious restaurants of the city with artistic
programme and Azerbaijani national dishes (kabab: “lula”, “tika”, “basdirma”, “djudja”, “baliq” and
“Yarpag dolmasi”, “Pilau with meat and Sabzi-govurma” , etc. The dinner is accompanied with tasting
various types of wine, beer, cognac and vodka products including “Odlar Yurdu” wine,“Nizami” and
“Maestro” cognacs. On the way to the hotel from the restaurant - a short panoramic excursion “Baku
Fires”. (route: “Azadlyg” square - Music Academy - H.Aliyev’s Palace- Rashid Beybutov street-
Istiglaliyyat street - Neftchilar avenue)

Day 3. Baku – Shamakhy - Gabala

08:00-09:00 - Breakfast at the hotel.
09:00-13:00 - Wine tour “Kogor Way” – till Shamakhy city (125 km. far from Baku)
Acquaintance with development of sericulture in Mountain Shirvan region– brands of “Madrasa”,
“Izabella” and “Shirvanshahs” wine, which give juice for the best brands of sweet wines and cognacs,
short excursion in Shamakhi region as well. “Diri Baba” mausoleum (1402) in Maraza village, Public mosque “Juma” (“Friday” XIX c.) and mausoleum complex “Yeddi Gumbaz” (“Seven domes”
XVIIIc.) in Shamakhy city.
13:00-14:30 – Lunch at the tour complex “Sharadil” (national dishes “Buglama”, “Arishta”, “Saj” and
tasting local “Shirvan” wines – “Madrasa”, “Gunashli”, “Shirvan”, etc. with the assortment of
various types of dry fruits and grapes “seedless grapes”, “kuraga”, “albukhara”, “dried plum”, “dried
apricot” , various types of “white” and “yellow” cheese, national sweets such as “pakhlava”,
“khalva”, “shakarbura” as well.
14:30-16:30 - Course: Shamakhi-Muganli pass (panorama of The Big Caucasus) – Ismayilli- Vandam (80km.
far from Shamakhi).
16:30-19:00 – Arriving at Vandam village or Gabala and accommodation in one of the tourist complexes:
“Seven beauties”4*, “Duyma” 3* in Vandam village and in “Kavkaz Resort” 5* hotel as well as
other categories 4* and 3* in Gabala city. Free time
19:00 - Dinner at the restaurant of the tour complex with tasting local alcohol drinks made from
various sorts of grapes (“Kurdmashi”, “Ivanovka”, “Cornel vodka”, “Ezgil vodka”, “Peach vodka”
wines, etc.) and dishes of local cuisine as well – “Kufta bozbash”, “Piti”, Toyug shorbasi”, “Djiz
biz”, “Dolma”, etc).

Day 4. Gabala – Yevlah - Ganja

08:00- Breakfast at the restaurant of the tour-complex or hotel, check out.
09:30-10:30 Short excursion programme in Gabala region: mausoleum complexes /XVc/ near Xazra village
“Seven beauties” waterfall panorama of “Nour” mountain lake in Ruskan village
10:30-15:00-Moving to western region of the republic ”Azerbaijan Wineland” – route: Gabala-Agdash-
Yevlah - Ganja (170km.). At noon- lunch at a local restaurant with dishes of Azerbaijani national
cuisine with sause-seasoning from various sour and sour-sweet fruits and grapes (“doshab”,
“bakmaz”, “narsharab” etc.)
15:00- 16:30 Arriving in Ganja city and accommodation in “My Way”5* or “Ganja”3* hotel.
17:00-19:00 – Excursion in the central part of Ganja city with the acquaintance of the main sightseeings of the city.
19:00 - Farewell dinner at the restaurant “Ganja-Aylanja” with the Azerbaijan traditional cuisine.

Day 5. Ganja –Tovuz - Border with Georgia -Tbilisi

09:00 - Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00-12:00 – Course: Ganja – Shamkir - Tovuz (85km.)
12:00-15:00 – Arriving in Tovuz city and visiting NAIG’Co “Tovuz-Baltia” LTD Company on cultivating grapes (sorts of grapes: “Gold Risling”, “Deli Kur”, “Azer Nar”, “Bigir”, Shardone”, “Samilyon”,
“Al-Kuhl”) and wines and liquors (pomegranate and quince wines, “Tovuz-Baltia” cognac sampling
as well). Acquaintance with the company’s wine storage and vineyards.
15:00 - Course: Tovuz – Gazah - border with Georgia (Hramchay river, 70km.)
17:00 - Arriving at Azerbaijan - Georgia border near “Sinig Korpu” (Red Bridge) and passage
through the customs and passport control (from both sides – 1h.)
Meeting with Georgian tour operators. Beginning of Georgian part of the programme.

GEORGIAN PART

Day 6- Meeting at the Red Bridge border with Azerbaijan partners & transfer to the hotel / D

17.00 We will meet you at the border and transfer to the hotel in Tbilsi. Check in at the hotel.
21.00 Greeting dinner at a restaurant in old city.
D-dinner/Overnight at the hotel in Tbilisi.

Day 7 – Kakheti Region, Homeland of Wine / B/ L /D

Highlights: Fortified town, functioning nunnery
Most of our tour we will spend in Kakheti Region, the place which Georgians also call the homeland of wine. The vineyards cover the best part of the territory of the region. History of Kakheti winegrowing takes a start from VI millennium BC.
We’ll start our excursion with Sighnaghi - one of the most beautiful towns of Georgia. Its attractiveness is largely defined both by the age-old architectural sites and its natural characteristics: the Town is located on a hilltop and looks over the boundless area of the Alazani Valley and the snow-covered Caucasus mountains.
After the tour visit nearby Bodbe Monastery, only 2 km away from Sighnaghi. Bodbe monastery is dedicated to St Nino. The three-naved basilica was built in the feudal period, but was reconstructed several times.
Afterwards we’ll visit the unique double dome monastery in Gurjaani.
At the end of the day we’ll depart towards Telavi, the main city of Kakheti region to have overnight there.

Day 8- Kakheti Region / B/ L/ D

Highlights: 19th century Prince Residence, Old winery, Churches of 16th, 11thcenturies.
From Telavi we’ll depart towards village Tsinandali.
Initially built during the 19th Century, the Tsinandali house, winery and gardens (which retain unique microclimate and were designed by French architects) tell the story of a Kakhetian prince. Wine tasting at Tsinandali winery, where wines dating back to 19th century are stored.
The second part the day we’ll dedicate to Gremi Church (16th c) and Alaverdi Cathedral (11th c) which are most significant religious and cultural sites in Kakheti.
We will visit vineyards of local villages and discover the original, almost ancient technologies of winemaking at the local wineries.
Overnight in Telavi

Day 9- Tbilisi & Mtskheta tour

Highlights: Treasury, UNESCO HERITAGE site, Old city / B/ L/ D
At 08:30 am, from Telavi we’ll depart towards Tbilisi (2.5 hrs drive), capital of Georgia.
Here we’ll visit the National Museum of Georgia (open from 11:00 – 16:00, except Monday), where a large number of vessels connected with wine-making are preserved, dating from the initial period of cultivation of the vine to the present day. Tbilisi City tour.
The second half of the day we’ll dedicate to ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta.
Here Georgians adopted Christianity in the beginning of 4th century and Mtskheta still remains the Headquarters of Georgian Orthodox Church. Here are a number of very significant archeological and religious monuments, dominated by the Cathedral Svetitskhoveli (11th C.) and the church of Jvari (6th Century). Mtskheta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
19:00 – 21:00 Optional visit the JSC Sarajishvili Wine Brandy & Alcohol Factory
In 1884 David Sarajishvili set up his first wine brandy production in Georgia using the classic technology, which was the first throughout the Russian Empire. The Tbilisi factory produced the first brandy in 1887.
With its contents, roots, nobleness and originality this divine drink deeply differs from the other spirits and is considered to be elite and luxury product. Here you’ll have an opportunity to have a degustation as well.
21.30 Farewell dinner with traditional drinks and dishes.
At the end of the day we can walk in old city.

Day 10- Departure

Check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport.
